Latraca Perry Garvin

Mrs. La’Traca Denise Garvin better known as Neicy was born on January 4, 1984 to Raymond Chandler, Jr. and Barbara Ann Perry. She entered her eternal rest on Saturday, January 21, 2023.

 La’Traca was a very fun loving and energic person. She had a heart of gold with a smile that would light a dimmed room. She loved listening to music, dancing, singing karaoke and a comedian who was bound to put a smile on your face and laughter in your heart. On April 4, 2015, La’Traca married the love her of life Terrell Garvin. If you knew La’Traca you would know that she loved and adored her husband and her son.

La’Traca was a very smart person who believed that everyone should be well educated. She was known to many as a true inspiration and role model. She graduated from Wagener-Salley High School in 2002. She then obtained an Associate of Arts from Limestone College in 2010 and a Bachelor of Science in 2011. She then received a Master of Science in Education in 2017 from Capella University. During her early years La’Traca joined Ocean Grove Baptist Church.

La’Traca worked many years for the State of South Carolina. Her most recent position was Eligibility Specialist II (Magi) in line to be Team Lead for South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) – Healthy Connection (Medicaid) in Aiken, South Carolina.

La’Traca was preceded in death by her Maternal grandfather Mr. Lenwood Perry, Sr and her Paternal grandparents Mr. Raymond Chandler Sr. and Mrs. Mildred A. Chandler. Those left to cherish her memories are her loving and devoted husband Terrell Garvin and her handsome baby boy Yahmir Garvin. Two stepdaughters Jaie Garvin and Nyla Garvin. Parents Raymond Chandler, Jr and Barbara Ann Perry. Maternal Grandmother Mary Perry. Mother-in-law Shirley Phillips and Father-in-law Liston Garvin. Two sisters Shakira Perry and Aaliyah Chandler. One brother Antwane Sweat. Sister-in-laws Tasha (Rodriquez) Brown and Shanina (Demetrius) Nelson. Three Brother-in-laws Avis Garvin, Roderick Williams, and Fredrick Furtick. God-Parents Shelby Quattlebaum and Angie Perry. Honorary Mother Mary Kinard. Two Honorary Sisters Kenya Jackson and Rockell Ashley. Three God-Children Kaylin Jackson, Adrian Chandler and Antonio (TJ) Chandler. Honorary Niece Shania Jackson. Very special friends Jennifer Rollins and former Aiken Regional Co-Workers. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
