Wayne O’Briane Leaphart, 62 affectionally known to many as “Dank” departed his earthly life on Sunday, August 14, 2022.
He was born on August 26, 1959, to the late James L. Leaphart and Etora Leaphart of Lexington, South Carolina.
Wayne graduated from Lexington High School in Lexington, SC in 1978 where he was a star athlete in basketball and held a record in track and field.
His work career started with Walter Hendricks Construction where his love for building homes started. Wayne later was employed by PPM, Emcor as a construction worker operator of a front-end loader. He was a very hard worker who was passionate about his job and coworkers.
Outside of working Wayne loved being outdoors—playing basketball, fishing in his kayak on the local river or jogging around the park. He enjoyed collecting coins, lawn care, and playing the lottery.
Wayne O’Briane Leaphart was a caring, loving, selfless person who will be forever known as “Best Dressed” with a beautiful soul. Although he is no longer physically with us, his loving and kind spirit will forever live in the hearts and lives of all who loved and knew him.
Preceded in death by brother James E. Leaphart and sister Glenda Leaphart and close friend/cousin Don Leaphart.
To cherish his memories, he is survived by his loving daughters Jamie Davis of Jacksonville, FL, Joy (Brock) Mills of Lexington, SC. Four grandsons Anthony, Bryce, Caleb Davis (Jacksonville, FL) and Kade Mills (Lexington, SC). Two Brothers, Chriswell (Rita) Leaphart of Lexington, SC, Will (Joyce) Leaphart of Lexington, SC. Two sisters, Bobbie Jean Leaphart of Lexington, SC, and Brenda Leaphart of Irmo, SC. Aunt Wilhelmina (Raymond) Mims and Aunt Wilhelmina Kirby. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
